Josef Kanta was born on the 5th of March 1982 in Pilsen.

He started learning himself to play the guitar when he was 13 years old. In 2006 he commenced his studies at Pilsner Conservatoire as a pupil of professor Černý. Beside that, he got profitable experience in master classes of prominent world's guitar players.

During his studies at Pilsner Conservatoire he got separated from the outer world and spent most of the time only with his instrument.

Since 2012 he was a producer of 3 editions of a musical projekt Art of Music.

He musically accompanied the exhibition of the painter Otto Plachta under the auspices of the Embassy of Peru.

Lately we could've seen him mostly on domestic scenes. He also performed on Český rozhlas live broadcast. He currently  performs with his Solo Repertoire as a virtuoso guitarist.
